CARLOS "LOS" CASTRO
Meet the Staff Story Two
DADE CITY, Fl. - To be worldly means one has been immersed in many cultures.
They have seen the “Wonders of the World,” lived in many countries, eaten a variety of foods and experienced an abundance of what life has to offer all around the globe.
Carlos Castro is a worldly man.
Growing up in a Navy household, he moved countless times to go where his father would be stationed. His father, a man who fought in the Vietnam War, had a job that caused the family to move all around the world, and would prove to be how Carlos, Los for short, became who he is today.
“I grew up moving everywhere,” said Castro, a sales consultant for Jarrett Ford Dade City. “Because my dad was in the Navy, I got to see it all.”
Coming to Florida from Puerto Rico after high school on a football scholarship to Saint Leo University in St. Leo, Florida, Castro realized this area was where he wanted to put down roots.
“There’s something about this community that kept me here,” said Castro. “I almost went into the Navy before I accepted the football offer, and I'm so glad I made the decision I did. I don't know where I’d be if I didn't make that decision.”
Being recruited for football isn't the only recruitment process he’s been through. After working for the local McDonalds for 13 years, Castro found himself being recruited by Mr. Dick Jarrett, founder of Jarrett Ford Dade City.
“He came to my house to talk to me,” said Castro. “From that moment on, nine days after I left McDonalds, I knew Jarrett Ford was where I wanted to be.”
And Jarrett Ford Dade City was where he would stay.
In the sales department, Castro found his niche and has been there for 25 years. He is just over a month into his 26th year and has no plans to leave.
“Why would I go anywhere else?” said Castro. “It’s like I’m working for a family here. I have no plans to leave anytime soon.”
Family used to be the reason he moved all over the world. Now, the Jarrett Ford Family is the reason he is staying put.
