JARRETT FORD DADE CITY AND PASCO HIGH SCHOOL
It's All About The Community
DADE CITY, Fl. - Small towns lead to everyone growing up with the same group of people.
Families have been in the area for generations, creating relationships between people that are passed down generation to generation.
Dade City, Florida, is one of those small towns.
There are four elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school.
One high school means that everyone from the different elementary and middle schools funnel together for the last four years of school. Some friendships will be new and others will be based on being in class since kindergarten.
The relationships may start out at different points but, under the pirate flag, they form a bond that never breaks.
Relationships and connections are what make life what it is. Pasco High School aims to cultivate those relationships, but not only within their own walls.
Teaming up with various businesses in the community, Pasco High School aims to always prepare their students to overcome challenging obstacles that life will throw their way.
One of the businesses that has always gone above and beyond in supporting Pasco High School is Jarrett Ford Dade City.
“We cannot thank Jarrett Ford enough for their support,” says Ryan Brady, Assistant Principal at PHS. “They’re more than just a sponsor. Cliff Martin makes it a personal relationship and we cannot be more thankful.”
Jarrett Ford has been involved with the high school for years, always making sure that they help with anything and everything from athletic events to community events that help bring in revenue to the school.
Hard work is the cornerstone of Jarrett Ford’s success and they recognize hard work that Pasco High School students give in the classroom.
They foot the bill for a dinner each summer honoring students who earn straight As all year. The private dinner is held at Lake Jovita Country Club in Dade City.
“Along with the community events, they sponsor our Straight A Dinner,” said Brady. “We do it every year and every year they support it.”
One very important part of the relationship between Pasco High School and Jarrett Ford is the annual “Drive 4 UR School” event that Jarrett Ford has helped sponsor since 2008. Schools that participate in the nationwide program earn twenty dollars per driver that can be used for anything from books to basketballs and everything in between.
“I remember doing the event with Pasco during the years my kids were in school there,” said Natalie Brock, a parent of four Pasco High graduates. “I helped run it for Pasco under principal Pat Reedy the first year. It was new and they weren’t sure if it would work. We ended up having the most drivers and earning the most money of any school nationwide that did it. The success was because the parents and community came out of full force to support it.”
Community support is huge. It powers schools, businesses and restaurants around Dade City. It powers the relationship between Jarrett Ford and Pasco High School.
“Our relationship is strong,” said Brady. “Mr. Martin is involved on all fronts, and even goes to the Date City Rotary meetings and talks about what’s going on with the school. People never really know what’s going on with the school, and he helps get our messages across.”
Jarrett Ford is a major supporter of Pasco High School and works relentlessly each year to show that support.
“They’re such a good support system,” said Brady. “We can always count on them.”
Generations from now, under the red and black Pasco Pirates flag, there will be new students and new Jarrett Ford employees. But those new players will be in the same game of working together to make a community bond continue to strengthen and grow.
