JARRETT FORD DADE CITY AND DADE CITY ROTARY
Committed to Excellence
DADE CITY, Fl. - Service above self.
Encourage, foster and build.
Develop any opportunity to serve.
The object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the idea of service as a basis of worthy enterprise while recognizing the value of all occupations. Through these services in the community, Rotary strives to create an international understanding of goodwill and peace through fellowship in the business and professional world.
These objectives are built on a foundation of community involvement and interaction. Without the support and relationship with those around, Rotary would not be what it is today.
Jarrett Ford Dade City is one of many businesses Rotary has teamed up with to build a strong community within the Dade City and Zephyrhills areas.
“I cannot think of an event that our Rotary Club has hosted that Jarrett Ford has not sponsored,” said Nicole Newlon, President-Elect of the Rotary Club of Dade City. “From our annual Rotary Bowl, which allows our Rotary Club to contribute to our community and funds our efforts for the following year, to the Outstanding Senior Banquet, an annual tradition honoring outstanding graduating seniors from Pasco High School, Jarrett Ford deserves credit for each of these vital contributions to our Club.”
Jarrett Ford Dade City and Rotary don't only do events away from the main site of the dealership. Partnered with the Dade City Rotary Club, Jarrett Ford has sponsored Drive 4 UR School, a service event that brings in funds for schools, since 2008.
Each year, Jarrett Ford also hosts the “Drive 4 UR Community” event which allows non-profit groups within the community to receive funds from Ford Motor Company based on the number of “drives” each organization brings in during the day.
Since this program’s inception, Jarrett Ford and the Dade City community have been Ford Motor Company’s number one dealership in the country, raising over $175,000 for Pasco and Zephyrhills High Schools.
“Drive 4 UR School,” “Drive 4 UR Community” and the many sponsored Rotary events highlight the idea that Jarrett Ford Dade City and Rotary of Dade City are committed to working together to build a strong foundation for the Dade City community.
Being part of the community also means being part of the football world. Dade City and Zephyrhills, the two main communities in the area, sit just nine miles apart. Those nine miles separate a decades old war between the two schools. This war revolves around football.
The “Nine Mile War” switches between each town every other year. Each year, Ford Motor Company donates money to the high school of the driver’s choice when they come in after being registered by Rotarians. Each year the school with the most donations wins. It’s all in the spirit of competition.
The two schools, the Rotary Clubs and Jarrett Ford all come together to help promote the community. Though a competition it may be, that doesn't dissuade the public to come together in support of one another, and Jarrett Ford and the Rotary Club sit at the heart of that relationship.
“I know that Cliff and Jarrett Ford are partners, in every sense of the word, with our Rotary Club,” said Newlon. “And they contribute to the success of each event we host and each project we undertake.”
A community is only as strong as its foundation.
This community, with such strong support systems, is unshakable.
